Gabriel had always loved her hands; they were smaller than his (but not by much), slender and soft, with a few callouses here and there. Occasionally, there were blisters and wounds, whether it was because she held on to her blade just a bit too long or just a bit too tight, or from whatever debris or monster had cut into her skin. Nonetheless, they were beautiful. They told a story, told where she had been, where she was, and where she was bound to be. He occasionally caught himself watching her hands; noticing how she held coffee cups with both by only her fingertips and how she would flourish them with a flick of her wrist when writing. He had always imagined her left hand with a gold band or a tan line around the base of a finger, with a matching one around his own. But nonetheless, he was content with the way they were; a man can dream, can’t he?

One of the thing he loved about Melanie Colt’s hands, however, was how they fit perfectly within his own. He loved holding them, feeling them against his skin. He loved tracing small circles upon her skin with his thumb absentmindedly. He loved holding them tight and reassuringly whenever she needed him to, or whenever he needed to hold something reassuringly tight. He loved leaning across the table and wrapping his hands around hers as he told her whatever she needed to hear, watching her stare into the coffee cup that her own hands were wrapped around with a small smile on her face. He loved weaving his fingers in between hers, and the occasional awkward angles their hands would make when they did. He loved when her hand would just rest within his on lazy nights as they sat in front of the TV, when he kissed her hand and pretended to be a proper gentleman to extensive proportions, and when he held her right hand with his left and placed his right hand on her waist as he spun her around the empty hotel room.

The thing he loved most about Melanie, though, was not so much her hands, but the extraordinarily beautiful woman who was attached to them.
I'm not sure if I'm going to do the sketch a day thing. My eraser kind of smeared some of it, but I was kind of too happy with it to change it. I might go back and add one, but I think this is this might be good enough for now.

I'm more of a writer than an artist, anyway.

Melanie Colt is mine, but Gabriel is owned by the writers and copyright holders of Supernatural...and probably God because angel and whatnot.
